you mentioned aeons ago that there would be an update to this, that you had taken on a new member of staff and were testing new levels

What happened ? is it ever going to happen ?

We had posted that there would be an update to DD with a new randomized labyrinth level. We actually spent several weeks building a working prototype, but we discovered 2 important things:

1) The tech to pull it off required a complete rewrite of the AI (which entirely changed the experience on the original levels, and not necessarily for the better)
2) Adding the random level in of Itself wasn't very fun

Despite the promises made, we had to make the tough decision to not release something we couldn't be proud of. Personally, I would love to take another stab at DD, but I think to really fix the issues would require a complete ground up re-evaulation of the game that would be best saved for a sequel where we can break all of the rules.

Long story short, there are no plans at this time for any major enhancements to DD.
